Welcome! Let’s begin this module by reflecting on how you currently design flexible learning experiences, and where you see potential for innovation using AI. This activity will help you position yourself at the start of the course and connect with peers working on similar challenges.

Step 1: Post here. Respond briefly to the following three prompts. What is one strategy you currently use to offer flexibility in your teaching? Where do you struggle the most when designing for diverse participation modes (in-person, synchronous online, asynchronous)? If AI could help you in one area of your course design, what would it be? Add a photo or emoji that reflects your current experience with HyFlex design!

Step 2: Explore others’ posts. Read and comment on at least one peer’s post. What do you have in common? What idea would you like to try in your own context?

How to reply so that it is useful

Read at least one other post before you write your own, and answer it in three short parts:

    1. What works: name one specific choice in the post that would help their students, and say why.
    2. What worries you: point to one place where a learner in a different mode, especially the asynchronous one, could be left out, and suggest a fix.
    3. What you would borrow: one idea you will take into your own course, and how you would adapt it.

Post your own contribution as text in the message field rather than as an attachment, so that colleagues can read it without downloading. This is a practice task and it is not graded; the programme team reads every thread and replies where a discussion stalls.
