HyComm
KeymasterWhich LMS communication tools do you rely on most, and how do they help you reach learners across modalities?
In Lesson 1 you looked at three qualities that HyFlex communication has to build: presence, so learners feel actively guided even when they are not in the room; trust, which comes from a predictable rhythm; and responsiveness, which means being reachable and visibly attentive. You also saw what each modality loses on its own, and how announcements, messaging, forums, calendars and feedback channels close those gaps.
Now write about your own course. Name the tools you actually use rather than the ones your platform offers, say what they do well for you, and be honest about the channel that is not working. If you drafted a weekly update with the Weekly Update Composer, tell us what the reach check named as your weakest channel.
Paste your text into the message field rather than attaching a file, so others can read it without downloading. Then read the other posts and respond to at least one: commend it, or offer feedback.
How to reply so that it is useful
Read at least one other post before you write your own, and answer it in three short parts:
1. What works: name one specific choice in the post that would help their students, and say why.
2. What worries you: point to one place where a learner in a different mode, especially the asynchronous one, could be left out, and suggest a fix.
3. What you would borrow: one idea you will take into your own course, and how you would adapt it.Post your own contribution as text in the message field rather than as an attachment, so that colleagues can read it without downloading. This is a practice task and it is not graded; the programme team reads every thread and replies where a discussion stalls.
